Project introduction: Liuhua11-1/4-1 oilfields are located in the Pearl River Mouth Basin. Liuhua11-1 oilfield is located in about 220km southeast of Hong Kong, of which the water depth is about 305-324m. Liuhua4-1 oilfield is located in about 215km of Hong Kong, of which the water depth is about 260-300m. The main facilities consist of the following:
A new 4 legs fixed LH11-1 DPP (“Haiji-2”), Water Depth:324m
A new 60,000 tons cylindrical LH11-1 FPSO (“Haikui No.1”), Water Depth:312m
One flexible pipeline and subsea cable from LH11-1 DPP to LH11-1 FPSO
One flexible pipeline from existing bridging manifold to LH11-1 DPP
Existing LH4-1 subsea cable tie back to LH11-1 DPP by lengthening
Existing LH4-1 umbilical rebuilt and tie back to LH11-1 DPP
Project highlights: Liuhua11-1/4-1 Oilfields Continued Development Project is the first project combining a deepwater fixed platform with cylindrical FPSO with average water depth of 320m in the world, which is accomplished by COOEC as the EPCI contractor independently.
The total weight of LH11-1 DPP Platform is over 50,000 tons. The deepwater jacket “Haiji-2” is nearly 37,000 tons with water depth of 324m, which is No.7 of the world deepwater jacket. A digital Health Management System is applied in “Haiji-2”, which will be used for daily inspection and maintenance of substructure after the platform being in-service.
The total weight of LH11-1 cylindrical FPSO(“Haikui No.1”) is nearly 37,000 tons with water depth of 312m, which is No.3 of the world cylindrical FPSO.
These two facilities both have a 30-year design fatigue life and could survive from ultra-strong typhoon once-in-a-century.
Project: Lufeng Oilfields Regional Development Project
Time of completion: December 2022
Project introduction: This project located in the Pearl River Mouth Basin, consists of two drilling and production platforms and a subsea production system. The core facility of the project is Lufeng 15-1 jacket “Haiji-1”, which is 302 meters high and weighs 30,000 tons.
Project highlights: Deepwater jacket “Haiji-1” , the first 300m deepwater jacket in Asia, is designed to withstand extreme sea states with a return period of 100 years. COOEC has overcome many challenges associated with strong internal waves, highly consolidated soil in the continental slope zone, large sand waves and sand ridges, super-large structures in position and the stability of super-large X-braced structures. It has employed more than ten innovative technologies including but not limited to the overall design of deepwater jackets, the design and construction of stepped mud pads and independent launching trusses, the lifting of large-size, wide-span, heavy structures involving multiple cranes, and digital twin-based operation and maintenance, embracing all-round improvement in the areas of basic theory, structure type/form, design concept, material selection, construction technique, operation and maintenance.
Project: Liuhua 16-2 FPSO EPCI Project
Time of completion: July 2021
Project introduction: Liuhua 16-2 FPSO (“HYSY119”) EPCI project is the first deepwater oil field development independently implemented by COOEC as EPCI contractor, which is located in Liuhua, China, about 240km southeast of Hong Kong, with water depth from 404m to 428m. The scope of work includes:
150,000 tons FPSO including one SIT type SPM
4 x steel pipeline(70km)
6 x flexible pipeline(10km)
8 x subsea cable(112km)
3 x umbilical(38km)
3 x SPS / 26 x Subsea Production Tree
SPDU, SDU, flying lead & jumper
Project highlights: ”HYSY119” FPSO is the first self-developed oil field in water depth of more than 400m, and it is also the first single point without release under typhoon condition. It is the first time for COOEC to carry out EPCI contract for FPSO(including SIT type SPM), and it is the first time to carry out installation and pre-commissioning fully underwater equipment in deepwater oil field.
Project: Petrobras P67/P70 FPSO EPC Project
Time of completion: P67: May 2018; P70: December 2019
Project introduction: The Petrobras FPSO Project is located in the Santos Basin, Brazil in the southeast of the South Atlantic Ocean, about 300 kilometers away from Sao Paulo, where the water depth is about 2,188m. The scope of work includes the construction of six topsides and a number of small functional modules of two FPSO vessels, the integration/assembly of all modules into two FPSO vessels (each FPSO has 18 modules with a total weight of about 50,000 tons) and the commissioning and towing of the two FPSO vessels.
Project highlights: Petrobras P67/P70 FPSO Project is the first project delivered by COOEC as an independent FPSO EPC contractor and one of the foreign FPSO projects that involves the largest work load, highest technical complexity and most stringent technical requirements. During the execution of this project, COOEC has developed more than 190 innovative techniques and processes and obtained more than 40 national patents. The delivery of FPSO vessels P67 and P70 enable COOEC to provide services together with the other international FPSO EPC contractors. The project of P70 has been recognized as one of China’s “Top Ten Innovation Projects in 2019”.
Project: Liwan 3-1 Gas Field Project
Time of completion: June 2013
Project introduction: Liwan 3-1 gas field, jointly developed by CNOOC and Husky Energy, is China’s first deepwater gas field. It is located in the Pearl River Mouth Basin, about 250km to southeast of Hong Kong, where the water depth ranges between 1,350m and 1,500m. A jacket weighing about 30,000 tons and a central platform weighing about 32,000 tons were constructed in 190m deep water and connected to the subsea production facilities at depths of 1,350-1,500m through a 6 inch submarine pipeline. Natural gas was transferred to the onshore LNG terminal on Zhuhai Gaolan Island through a 30 inch submarine pipeline.
Project highlights: Liwan 3-1 gas field is China’s first deepwater gas field with water depth of more than 1,000m. It is regarded as a marking of COOEC marching towards the deepwater field. During the execution of this project, COOEC independently developed the technology for the overall hoisting and weight transfer/lowering of 30,000 tons modules, used tower frames for the lifting and installation of large modules for the first time, and independently completed the design of the loadout, transport and offshore float-over installation of 30,000 tons modules for the first time, making a large number of achievements in installation design.
